May was a busy month, and it culminated in a fantastic University of the Arts London (UAL) Alumni Reception in Seoul. Alumni from all six of our Colleges joined us for an evening celebrating the vibrant creative network the UAL Korean Alumni Association has created. Guests were also joined by prospective students who will be coming to UAL in September.

President of the Korean Alumni Association, Jihyun Chung, welcomed everyone to the event. She was followed by Jeremy Till, Head of Central Saint Martins (CSM), who gave an update on news from across the University. He also encouraged guests to chat and build connections with each other, to continue to grow and strengthen the UAL creative network in Korea.

The UAL Korean Alumni Committee hosted the event and worked hard to secure drinks sponsorship, and prizes to give out to guests during the evening.

The dress code for the evening was yellow and green, to celebrate the arrival of Spring, and awards were given for the best-dressed! There was also an exhibition of alumni work, where guests could see the amazing variety of creative industries our graduates in Seoul have gone into, including shoe design, ceramics and graphic design.

We'd like to thank Giyong Lee and Foresthill Studios for the use of their wonderful space for this event.

Finally, thank you to the UAL Korean Alumni Association Committee; Jihyun Chung (President), Ji-Hyun Oh (Vice President), Sun-A Kim, Gi-Young Lee, Na-Won Paek, Doii Lee and Yuju Lee.

Without the support and dedication of this team of alumni volunteers, who give up their time to help develop a creative network in Seoul, UAL wouldn’t be able to provide our Korean community with regular opportunities to network, share job opportunities, take part in creative projects and make friends in a city or region they might be new to.

This event was a chance for our local Committee to hear from anyone interested in playing a bigger part in its future by offering to also volunteer or step forward with ideas for future activities. If you would like to get more involved in the UAL Korean Alumni Committee, please email the Committee on for more information.
