We are excited to welcome new and returning students to London for the 2021/22 academic year.
Before you can enjoy the city, you might need to quarantine if you have arrived from overseas - but don't worry, we are here to support you.
Quarantining in London
What Covid-19 testing and quarantine rules you need to follow depends on whether you qualify as fully vaccinated under the UK government's rules for travel to England.
If you do not qualify as fully vaccinated, you will be required to quarantine at home for 10 days.
Please see the UK government's guidance on entering England if you are unsure about what you need to do before and after arriving in London.
There are different rules if you have been in a red list country or territory in the 10 days before you arrive in England. Red list rules apply whether you are fully vaccinated or not and you will be required to complete managed hotel quarantine.

Making the most of quarantine
To keep busy and entertained, there are plenty of things you can do to prepare and get inspired for the new academic year.
Get prepared for the year ahead
Check out Big Welcome to make sure you are prepared for starting or returning to UAL. You can find information on fees and funding, enrolment, and check out events. There are also student guides so you can get to know London, UAL and your college before you start the new term.
You can also prepare for the new term by looking at your course’s Moodle page and course handbook.
Our Student checklist for 2021 is a handy document to look through if you want to settle in quickly.
Be inspired by the Graduate Showcase
UAL's Graduate Showcase features work from recent graduates, showcasing their final projects at UAL. It's a great place to go to get inspiration, whether it's from graduates of your course or someone working in a completely different way.
